The judicial branch of the government contrived the "separation of church and state" clause as a vehicle for outlawing religion in the public place and facilitating the development of a secular athiestic state. It has no constitutional authority! The true and only source of the "separation of church and state" clause is a letter written by Thomas Jefferson 13 years after the First Amendment was written. He wrote it, as the President of the United States, to the Danbury Baptist Association of Danbury, Connecticut in 1802. He wrote it to calm their fears, that Congress was not in the process of choosing any single Christian denomination in order to establish a "state" denomination, as was the case with the Anglican Church in England and Virginia. His personal letter assured them that the government's hands were tied from interfering with, or in any way controlling, the affairs or decisions of the churches in America: " Believing with you that religion is a matter which lies solely between man and his God, that he owes account to none other for faith or his worship, that the legislative powers of government reach actions only, and not opinions, I contemplate with solemn reverence that act of the whole American people which declared that their legislature should "make no laws respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof, "thus building a wall of separation between Church and State." There it is folks. The judges and any legislators who use this clause to oppress any religion or the exercise of any religion in any form should be removed from office.
