FVA Endorses
Bill Bolling for Lt Governor
The Family Values Alliance endorses Bill Bolling for Lt Governor for the following reasons:
1. His homepage [ http://www.billbolling.com/index.php?page=values ]publicly professes sound family values:6. Virginia Partisans, an advocacy group
for legitimizing sodomy, supports Leslie Byrne [http://www.vapartisans.org/pr061505.html]:
"Republican State Senator Bill Bolling, the Lt. Gubernatorial Nominee, has
been a fierce opponent of equality throughout his tenure in the State Senate,
earning a ZERO score from Equality Virginia. He was one of only 14 Senators to
oppose allowing companies the right to VOLUNTARILY offer health benefits to
domestic partners if they so chose and is one of only 17 Senators who has not
even established a written nondiscrimination policy for his own office. Bolling
brags in the "Virginia Values" section of his campaign web site that
he "is serving as a Senate co-patron of legislation to advance" the
unnecessary constitutional amendment which would write discrimination into
Virginia's constitution. He boasts of a 100% score from the extremist
"Family Foundation of Virginia."
7. From Equality Virginia, a leading Virginia advocacy group for
legitimizing sodomy, Voter Guide [http://www.equalityvirginia.org/atf/cf/%7BF56F0407-AD15-456F-9A9E-EB9BC57B69AC%7D/EV%20October%202005%20Voting%20Guide%20Insert.pdf]
"Bill Bolling believes that marriage is between a man and a woman. Voted in
favor of the proposed state consitutional amendment. Co-patroned Senate version
of marriage amendment. Voted in favor of resolution urging Congress to pass
Federal Marriage Amendment banning same-sex marriage and civil unions. Leslie
Byrne opposes proposed state and federal constitutional amendments to deny
marriage as between a man and a woman."
8. The liberal Washington Post Oct 5 Article [ http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2005/10/04/AR2005100400934.html
] stated that " The candidates, who have strong appeal to core
loyalists in their parties, made no mention of the social issues that divide and
define them. Byrne's support for abortion rights, gay rights and labor is well
known, whereas Bolling's backers see him as a true conservative who opposes
abortion."
9. The Roanoke Times in March 22, 2005 article [http://www.roanoke.com/columnists/lynch/wb/xp-20513]
States: "He is a consistent voice in support of saving the lives of
pre-born children. In fact, he has scored a 100 percent rating from the
conservative Family Foundation of Virginia. He strongly supports Second
Amendment rights and Virginia’s Right to Work law."
